08 Aug Miss Black USA 2015 Madison Gibbs Crowned in the Nation’s Capital
Scholarship Pageant, Focusing not just on Beauty but on the Education of Black Women
Washington, DC – In front of a sold out crowd, lights on high and chants on who may be the winner, Madison Gibbs was crowned Miss Black USA 2015. The big crowning night was held at the University of District Columbia Theater Arts Building.
Madison Nicole Gibbs is a native of Greensboro, NC. In May 2015, Madison received her Bachelors of Arts degree in Speech Communications from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where she graduated magna cum laude. She is currently furthering her education as a first year law student at Howard University School of Law. Madison is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
Madison previously reigned as Miss Black NC USA 2015 under her personal platform: Project R.S.V.P – Reaching our Society through Virtue and Public service. As Miss Black USA 2015, Madison will spend her reign as the official spokesperson for The Heart Truth, the national platform of Miss Black USA Organization to raise awareness of heart disease, the #1 killer of women. Madison will also travel to underserved communities with the “Are You Okay?” Tour, a partnership with Contemporary Family Services of Washington, D.C., to reduce the stigma of mental illness.
